WHY LLAMAS?
Owning llamas comes with a variety of benefits. They are gentle, friendly animals that can serve as great companions and even therapy animals. Additionally, their wool is soft and hypoallergenic, making it perfect for various crafts and textiles.
Llamas are also excellent for guarding livestock, as they have a natural instinct to protect.
They are outstanding hikers - strong, sure-footed, and gentle on trails. They can carry up to 25-30% of their body weight, making them ideal pack animals.

ABOUT NK ACRES
Hi! We are Nick and Kerstin Stauffer - first generation llama farmers!
We got married in June of 2020 and moved into Nick's childhood homestead. After we started to clean up the property, both of us found we loved all the projects and opportunities this property held for us. Having the room, we wanted to add farm animals.
We started out with chickens. Not too long after this, Nick's grandparents surprised us with two pygmy goats! Our farm was growing and we wanted to be able to protect the animals from predators and wanted a unique animal to do this. We looked into and purchased two llamas as our guard animals. Quickly, we became fascinated with the shows and breeding/selling.
We went from two llamas in 2023 to now owning over a dozen! Our goal is to share with others the unique experience of having llamas on the farm along with breeding/selling show quality llamas.
